RS Pondok Indah - Bintaro Jaya Wins PERSI Golden Award 2020 for COVID-19 Quick Response

This commitment is recognized through RS Pondok Indah – Bintaro Jaya’s achievement in winning PERSI Golden Award 2020 in the Paramakarya Dharmartha Husada category with the theme of “Hospital with Best Preparedness against COVID-19 Pandemic”.

The award was given to five hospitals across Indonesia, with RS Pondok Indah – Bintaro Jaya winning the PERSI Golden Award in private hospital category. 

The award aims to appreciate hospitals with successful response to COVID-19 pandemic. PERSI Golden Awards 2020’s standards of criteria include 12 components of assessment, including Leadership and Incident Management System, Coordination and Communication, Monitoring and Information Management, Risk Communication and Public Engagement, Administration, Finances and Business Continuity, Human Resources, Capacity Surge, Sustainable Essential Support Services, Patient Management, Occupational Health, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Rapid Identification and Diagnosis, as well as Infection Prevention and Control.

RS Pondok Indah – Bintaro Jaya director dr. Mus Aida, MARS, said, “Consistency in implementing infection prevention and control is among the main keys in cutting off the chain of COVID-19 spread. We always prioritize this to ensure the safety of our patients, visitors, and employees. We also always strive to carry out proper coordination and communication between units in the hospital to ensure integrated healthcare services for all patients that are optimal, quick, and responsive, despite the pandemic.”

Meanwhile, RS Pondok Indah Group chief executive officer dr. Yanwar Hadiyanto, MARS, said, “We have always been committed in helping the government to break the chain of COVID-19 spread. Before the pandemic, RS Pondok Indah Group had already established Infection Prevention and Control and Risk Management teams. Since the start of the pandemic, we have improved and prioritized our preparedness, implement health protocols and rapidly adopted existing resources and technologies for the safety and security of all of our visitors, patients, and employees.”

During the pandemic, all hospitals in the RS Pondok Indah Group network remain in operation with strict health protocols, starting from screening for all patients, visitors and employees. Everyone entering areas of RS Pondok Indah Group will be required to take body temperature check, and report symptoms and travel history. All patients, visitors and employees of RS Pondok Indah Group are required to wear masks while they are within the hospital area. Infection prevention and control procedures are always implemented and strictly monitored. The RS Pondok Indah Group Infection Prevention and Control Committee has established standards of disinfection with clinically-tested disinfection methods and products. Routine disinfection in all hospital areas are carried out carefully by maintaining hygiene standards, including routine disinfection process in all doctors’ consulting rooms. 

All hospitals under RS Pondok Indah Group have modified several facilities and made adjustments in hospital areas. Several modified facilities include the use of touchless buttons on all parking gates and elevators, providing thermal scanners in all entry points of hospitals, hand hygiene facilities like washbasins and automatic hand rubs in numerous spots, the implementation of physical distancing rules in all areas, and the use of acrylics divider in the hospital’ counters to prevent the spread of droplets. Higher-risk clinics such as the Dental Specialist Clinic are equipped with HEPA filters and extra-oral dental suctions to ensure proper air circulation during dental health treatments.  

During the pandemic, RS Pondok Indah Group has limited the number of companions for those undergoing outpatient and inpatient treatments, while also reducing crowds in waiting areas by implementing doctor’s appointment system. Doctors and employees of RS Pondok Indah Group always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in line with standards established by the Health Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO). RS Pondok Indah Group also has a Drive-Thru COVID-19 test service for PCR swab, Immunoassay, and rapid methods which results available to be obtained on the same day.
