Medical Treatments

Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS)

A comfortable minimal invasive surgery technique that returns the normal function of the nose and air flow of the sinus. Aside from able detecting disorders in nasal cavity, FESS can also treat cases, e.g. chronic sinusitis with the help of fiber optic endoscope, which gives more accurate visualization from nostril to post nasal cavity compared to conventional method.

Auditory Steady - State Respond (ASSR)

Objective hearing examination in order to obtain specific information.

Otoacoustic Emission (OAE)

Wave produced by the outer fine hair cells of the cochlea upon giving a stimulus. The appearance of the wave indicates that the cochlea is working properly, which is directly related with the hearing function.

Hearing screening with OAE is highly recommended for infants, especially premature babies, babies with high bilirubin level, as well as babies with meningitis, a history of toxoplasmosis, rubella, cytomegalovirus, and herpes in pregnancy, or babies who have genetic factors with hearing loss. If the OAE test result on the pediatric patient is less convincing or does not show a normal result, it is advisable for them to take the BERA test.

Brain Stem Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA)

A test to obtain electrical stimuli in the brain stem as the response of the stimulant in the sense of hearing.

Audiometry

Examination to determine the type and degree of deafness.

Cochlear Implant

Neuroprosthetic devices which is implanted through surgery to stimulate the auditory nerve and address moderate to severe hearing loss.

Mapping Implant (MAP)

Adjustment to the limits of electrical stimulation that the cochlear implant user should accept in order to hear comfortably the low/soft sounds.

Endoscopy

Non-invasive examination of the ears, nose and throat using a small camera that is connected to the monitor screen to detect abnormalities in these organs.

Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation Swallowing (FEES)

An examination to evaluate swallowing abnormalities in pediatric patients with dysphagia or eating difficulty.

Head and Neck Tumor Surgery

Surgery is one of the important therapies in treating head and neck tumor. Every tumor case is unique hence the surgery method would be adjusted based on the requirement and condition of the patient. In order to improve its efficiency, this surgery can also be combined with other therapy methods, such as radiation and chemotherapy.

Medical Technology

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)

The main therapy for sleep apnea by using a machine to apply air pressure through a mask. Mask will be placed over the nose and/or mouth while sleeping.
