Exclusive breastfeeding is the important foundation of a child’s health and intelligence. RS Pondok Indah Group presents Lactation Clinic as a form of commitment in supporting exclusive breastfeeding.

Our Lactation Clinic’s medical team is supported by a group of doctors, who are certified as breastfeeding counselor by IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) certifications. RS Pondok Indah – Pondok Indah is the first and only hospital in Indonesia to receive the IBCLC Award in 2020, a recognition given by The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) and The International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA).

RS Pondok Indah Group’s Lactation Clinic holds 7 breastfeeding contact principles recommended by WHO to prepare for breastfeeding process since pregnancy.

Introduction to basic mechanism of breastfeeding in week 28 of gestation period
Material consolidation and family preparedness discussion in week 36 of gestation period
Skin to skin contact or early initiation of breastfeeding during delivery
Guidance on proper breastfeeding positions for both lying or sitting condition (depends on the mother’s condition) and proper latching-on and suckling on recent days after delivery
Common challenge identification and giving support for mother and father to keep breastfeeding, within 1 week after delivery
Observation of the baby’s development and mother’s health 1 month after delivery
Monitoring and preparation for the mother to return to work within 2 months after delivery

Early Initiation of Breastfeeding

An important step in starting the breastfeeding process because it really helps the continuation of offering exclusive breastfeeding and the period of breastfeeding. The IMD process is carried out within the first hour since the baby is born.

Breast Care

Massage and breast care can help release the oxytocin hormone, which helps increase and strengthens breastfeeding, as well as makes breast tissue firmer. The breast care services that we provide also include proper breast care education after delivery and during the breastfeeding period.
