The latest procedure using the artery from other body part to create alternate route around blocked heart artery in coronary heart cases. This procedure uses artery that can be obtained from the arm or leg, also it can be done in more than one artery, depending on the severity of the clotting. CABG is proven to reduce chest pain symptoms and minimize the risk of repeated heart attacks.
Diagnostic method to assess heart condition and treat heart problems, e.g. opening narrowed blood vessels with stent. Catheterization uses a device that resembles a long thin tube inserted into a vein in the hand or thigh, which is then directed towards the heart.
BT Shunt is a procedure that connects systemic blood vessel with the pulmonary blood vessel by using a special tube. This procedure aims to increase the oxygen supply to children with congenital heart defects, as well as treating bluish/cyanotic condition, which is a condition that often comes with congenital heart defects in children.
A procedure which treats blocked coronary arteries due to cholesterol plague or fat, that potentially cause heart attack. PTCA is a minimal invasive treatment, using a catheter that could enter the coronary artery through a small incision on the arm or thigh. In order to prevent repeated clotting, the treatment is done together with ring or stent installation.
A pacemaker is a small device used to help the heart beat normally with a regular rhythm. This device also functions to detect any changes in the rhythm of your heartbeat. When such conditions occur, this device will send signals and help the heart returning to normal beating.
A small battery-powered device that can be implanted in the body or placed in the chest, performs cardioversion, defibrillation, and cardiac motion to correct cardiac arrhythmias and detect irregular heartbeats. An ICD can produce an electric shock flow through one or more of the wires connected to the heart to correct abnormal heart rhythms.
Endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) is an endovascular aneurysm repair procedure. Endovascular aneurysm repair involves a graft that is inserted into the aneurysm through a small incision on the groin using X-rays to guide the graft into place. The advantage of this type of procedure is that it does not require major surgery in the abdominal area, therefore this technique is considered safer than conventional surgery, and you only need to spend less time in the hospital. Not every aneurysm is suitable for an EVAR procedure, aneurysms that arise near or above the kidneys are more difficult to treat by this way. You will be screened beforehand to determine if your aneurysm can be treated with endovascular repair or other procedures.
Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is a thoracic endovascular aortic repair procedure. This procedure is performed when the artery wall under your ribs weakens and forms bulge, which causes blood to flow to the weakened area, putting you at risk of an aortic aneurysm. The TEVAR procedure involves placing a closed stent (metal tube with a cloth lining) into the area of the weakened artery. Taking the TEVAR action can provide a new pathway for blood to flow without pooling in the area of the bulge.
This procedure can be done for those who suffer aneurysm with more than 5.5 cm in diameter or if it has grown to more than 0.5 mm in a period of six months, to prevent the aneurysm from rupture which can cause death.
A non-surgical procedure to correct abnormal electrical activity in the heart by sending radiofrequency energy through a catheter to destruct abnormal tissue, which induce arrhythmia. This procedure is used to treat certain types of arrhythmias, such as:
Comprehensive examination to detect risks of cardiovascular diseases as early as possible by evaluating blood pressure, cholesterol level, blood sugar, equipped with electrodiography (EKG), echocardiography, angiography, CT-scan, and other high technology equipment. Cardiac Risk Screening is an early detection treatment that would protect you from various potential cardiovascular diseases complication.
A technic that combines a number of X-ray images taken from different sides of the body. Multi Slices Computed Tomography (MSCT scan) is also supported with a computerized system hence able to produce more detailed images of the muscle, nerve, bone, blood vessel, as well as various soft tissue.
This examination allows doctors to determine an exact diagnosis and determine the right treatment for a more optimum result. The most important aspect of MSCT scan is the availability of a multislice detector, which is able to produce better images and capture heart, organ which always beat and move, within seconds hence diagnosis could be obtained in a short time.
A non-invasive technology to determine heart’s function and structure with a different display of colors to represent blood flow direction, hence enabling interpretation and immediate treatment.
Checking the health of your heart and find out your physical fitness level using the treadmill. Cardiologists can evaluate heart rate and blood pressure, assess blood supply to the heart, detect abnormalities in heart rhythm and electrical activity in the heart when you do physical activity. With this examination, your cardiologist can also assess the severity of your coronary artery disease and determine the limits of safe physical exercise before starting a cardiac rehabilitation program due to a heart attack or heart surgery.
